Tá ráiteas éisithe ag Sinn Féin maidir leis an Samhail Nua Maoinithe – an bealach nua a mhaoineoidh Foras na Gaeilge eagraíochtaí Gaeilge amach anseo.

Go heifeachtach, tá eagraíochtaí Gaeilge sa Tuaisceart á ndíchoimisniú.

Tá cur síos déanta ag gníomhaire mór le rá ar an ráiteas le focal amháin – “dochreidte”.

Tá an ráiteas i mBéarla amháin ar shuíomh Shinn Féin.

downloadSinn Féin MLA Rosie McCorley has described the latest phase of the Foras na Gaeilge review of core-funded Irish language organisations as another important landmark in modernising the approach to all-Ireland language development.

The Irish Language spokesperson was speaking after Foras na Gaeilge announced the six new lead organisations which have been selected for future core-funding post-June 2014.

Ms McCorley said:

“The changes being introduced by Foras na Gaeilge have come after many years of consultation and discussion with the Irish language sector.  Today’s announcement is the latest phase in a strategy designed to ensure funding for Irish language development is focused on delivery.

“Sinn Féin welcomes the ongoing work by Foras to refocus funding for the Irish language in a more effective and efficient fashion.  We strongly encouraged all groups and organisations to become involved by applying under the new core-funding arrangements.

“All of the new six lead organisations will now function on an all-Ireland basis.  Together with the work by Minister Carál Ní Chuilín to introduce new all-Ireland language planning and development forums, these changes are another important step towards a full-fledged all-Ireland framework for the future strategic development and delivery of the Irish language.

“There will undoubtedly be implications for a range of groups which are currently core-funded, including some in the six counties. However, these must be balanced and seen in the broader positive context of more focused and strategic long-term delivery for the Irish language.

“Sinn Féin will continue to work with all organisations affected by the impending changes, and would encourage even greater collaboration between organisations than ever before.

“While the core-funding review is now complete, there also remains a wide range of options for groups in any part of the island to apply for ongoing project funding and I would strongly encourage such opportunities to be maximised.”

D’ainneoin nach mbeidh aon eagraíocht bhunmhaoinithe sa Tuaisceart a thuilleadh, tá fáilte curtha roimh an chinneadh seo ag daoine áirithe sa Tuaisceart ar an ábhar “go gcuireann sé deireadh leis an chríochdheighilteachas sna heagraíochtaí Gaeilge” ach tá gníomhaire eile buartha nach mbeidh sé ar chumas na n-eagraíochtaí bunaithe ó dheas freastal mar is ceart ar an Tuaisceart.
